We are at that point in our lives when the kids are grown and gone and we are once again back to the original two.  Seems a little hard to believe, but we are finally seeing the perks and looking forward to retirement in about three years.  Our children post their adventures with their young ones on their own blogs and have for quite some time, but this is a first for us.  Finally, we have given in to the fact that life is good and although we won't be writing so much about a first in their lives, we will about our own!
We are the parents of five and the grandparents of seventeen.  Having moved many times throughout our marriage, it is good to finally be settled down, ironically where we started out together, in Rexburg, Idaho.  Isn't it funny how your roots often bring you back to where you began?
Scott, an Engineer by trade, is now looking forward to hanging up his highly technical tools and concentrating on the hobbies that he has developed in his spare time.  And me?  I am enjoying our adult children, grandchildren, and friends who have been such a part of our lives throughout the years.  Having moved quite often, along the way, we have come in contact with so many great and dear people everywhere we have lived.  They are a wonderful part of our lives and we say, thank you to all of them for the great influence they have had on us and the  many things that we have learned throughout this journey, from them.  And how can you not mention family?  My sister lives a short distance from us now and I consider her to be one of my dearest friends. Scott's parents and two of five siblings are also close by.  We are lucky to be a part of their lives too.
All but two of our kids live far distances away, and we try to keep in touch through the wonders of technology, and visits, as often as we can. And to our two families in Utah, thank you for our frequent visits.
Of course we think our grand children are the brightest and the best!!  Don't we all?  They have come so quickly and without any effort on our part, and adore them, but don't we all?
Tonight I will have sweet dreams of them and will begin another day tomorrow busy and thankful to be alive.  Life is good, and I will once again thank the Lord for all that we have and enjoy.
